No, this procedure is done by a handheld tattoo machine that uses a single needle to deposit ink into the skin. This procedure is ultimately a tattoo. 

This procedure is in fact PERMANENT but does fade lighter than the initial session as well as touchups. Some skin types need more frequently touchups than others.  The term Semi Permanent is used by newer PMU Artists that do not have the correct technique to deposit ink correctly into the skin which causes the ink to completely fall out. 

Generally I tell my clients 1-3 years and the touchups depend on aftercare as well as skin type. Example: Oily skin types will require more touchups than those who have dry skin. 

 A general timeline of healing with scabbing being finished would be about 7-10 days. The skin fully rejuvenates after a 28 day cycle, this is when the brows true color will be shown. Please NOTE: The healing process is unique to each individual and  everyone heals differently, it may be before this general timeline or even slightly after.
